The Disappearance of Sherry Daugherty
28 year old Sherry Daughterty was last seen in Paradise Valley, Arizona on August 29, 1991. She reportedly disappeared during a shopping trip to the Paradise Valley mall.
Background
Sherry was born on July 5, 1963, and grew up in the Paradise Valley area. At the time of her disappearance she was living with her boyfriend at an apartment in the 6400 block of East Via Estrella in northeast Phoenix.
She worked as a tree trimmer with her boyfriend.
Disappearance
At approximately 8:00 pm on August 29, 1991, Sherry Daugherty reportedly left home to go shopping at the Paradise Valley Mall. She asked her live in boyfriend for some money, then headed out to buy a swimsuit.
After being unable to contact her, her family found her abandoned car in the parking lot of the Target located in Paradise Valley near the mall, but Sherry was nowhere to be found.
Her vehicle, a green El Camino, had the driver’s seat pushed back far, indicating someone much taller than Sherry had been driving.
Sherry’s wallet, purse, and identification were located inside her home.
Investigation
Sherry’s live in boyfriend told authorities she had asked for some money on the night she disappeared so she could go buy a bathing suit. He says she left at 8:00 pm and never returned.
The couple had a history of domestic violence, and he is the prime suspect in her disappearance. The boyfriend has reportedly bragged to multiple people about committing the perfect crime, stating he disposed of her body by putting her through a wood chipper.
Foul play is suspected in Sherry’s disappearance, though no arrests have been made.
Aside from her boyfriend’s story, the last confirmed sighting of Sherry was two days prior to her being reported missing.

White female born on July 5, 1963. Sherry has brown hair, brown eyes, stands 5’3, and weighs 115 pounds.
